The Postgraduate Department of English, Bharata Mata College, Thrikkakara in collaboration with Clean Fort Kochi Foundation and Couch Surfing Volunteer group had organised a mass Beach Clean Up on Saturday, 23rd June at Vasco Square, Fort Kochi. Chrysalis’19, the intercollegiate fest for a cause was flagged off during this event by Ms Shiny Mathew, Councillor, Fort Kochi in the presence of Ms Lissy Kachappilly (HoD, English), Aurieo Kien the Chairperson, David Laurence the Vice chairman, Joanita Thomas the Day of Clean Fort Kochi Foundation, the teachers of the Department of English and the Chrysalis team.
Chrysalis is conducted every year with more than 600 student participants from all over India. It champions to transform life and liberate and innovate it through ennobling the meek and the ordinary. Chrysalis endorses the theme of recovering and renewing by revering our roots and responding to its call. The beach cleaning was carried out in compliance with the motto of Chrysalis ’18 to reach out to the care of the elderly in the society and to preserve the heritage sites. Chrysalis is spreading its wings through myriad endeavours to root for the geriatric and heritage causes.
