The students of Department of Botany, Bharata Mata College,Thrikkakara organized a campaign that urges children ‘to grow our own greens’. The objective of the programme was to distribute the vegetable seedlings to bring interest and awareness to kids about the benefits of organic vegetable production in the kitchen garden. The final year students of Botany and faculty distributed the vegetable seedlings like Okra, Spinach, Pea, Chillies etc. to childrens of Anganvadi at T.V Centre, Eachamukku, Kakkanad during their ‘Praveshanotsavam"". The kids were educated by Aamila T. A final year student of Botany on how to plant the sapling and take care of it . Head of the Department Dr Newby Joseph co- ordinated the programme. Anganwadi teacher Beevi CM, ward councilor Haseena KU and parents of the children helped in providing saplings and making the program a great success
