Bharata Mata College in association with department of Finance & Taxation, NSS, NCC, Nature club, presented by Asianet Satellite Communications Ltd celebrated World environment day, URBAN FORESTREE, to mark the importance of nature and to promote awareness with regard to environmental protection. Smt. Veenadevi K R (Asst. Conservator of Forest) inaugurated the programme by supplying 5000 saplings to students of Bharata Mata College. She emphasized the need to continue the initiative, not just for one day but to be properly maintained and recorded. The objective of the programme is to provide an opportunity for people to get involved with their community and provides a connection to the land. Mr. Venugopal, ACV news bureau chief felicitated and appreciated the humble cause. As a first step to the launching of Urban Forestree, Manager, Rev.Fr. Abraham Oliyapurath along with Principal Dr.Johnson K M planted saplings in the premises of MBA block.
