Building Legacies since 1978: Empowering minds, enriching lives.
Established on July 18, 1978, the Department of Commerce at Bharata Mata College has evolved into a premier centre for research-focused learning. Beginning with a pre-degree programme, it quickly expanded to offer degree courses by August 7, 1980, under the leadership of its first head, Prof. C. Seethadevi. The department achieved postgraduate status on November 26, 1981, and was subsequently recognised as an approved Centre for Research in Commerce by Mahatma Gandhi University in 1997.
Currently, the department boasts 7 approved research guides and 28 research scholars. Its commitment to student development is evident in its exceptional academic record, diverse co-curricular activities, strong job placements, and industry linkages. An active commerce association and extensive alumni network further contribute to its success.
