National Cadet Corps
National Cadet Corps is a voluntary organisation which offers service training to university students to develop character, comradeship, service mindedness, and leadership. The motto of the NCC is “Unity and Discipline”. There are ample opportunities for its members to take part in camps such as ATC, RDC, BLC, ALC, mountaineering etc. Weightage for admission to higher studies will be given to those attending 95% NCC parades for two years. Grace marks at the rate of 2% will be given in the university examination to cadets
attending 80% Basic Leadership Camp/Republic Day Parade. Members of the Corps are eligible to appear for certificate B and certificate C examinations. Those obtaining C and a university degree are eligible to appear before SSB for direct commission in the defence force without appearing for the UPSC examinations. Enrolment to NCC is open to girls also. The NCC is in action to provide first aid and medical help in emergencies.
